Step 3: Customize and Add Your Own "Types of Time-off" and "Work Locations"
To make it easier for you we've added some default Types of Time Off, that are available for you from the start. These include:
- Vacation
- Sick Leave
- Conference
- Business
timeION was created to communicate not only time off, but also work time and location where the work is being performed from.
The majority of our users work from either the main office location, or from remotely from home.
This is why by default timeION by default has two work locations:
- Home (which you might treat as remote work)
- Office (might be your HeadQuaters)
If your organization has special needs (eg. a lot of your colleagues go to college/university), you might need to create a new type of time off, such as STUDIES. Or maybe you want to keep track of paid or unpaid vacations. If so, adding “Vacation-Paid” and “Vacation-Unpaid” may be a good idea.
Please note: you need to have administrator or manager privileges to proceed with further steps:
In order to create new types of time off, go to SETTINGS->EVENT TYPES
When creating a new type of time off, you will be able to set:
- icon
- short name
- help text (make it easy to understand to the rest of your colleagues)
When creating a new Work event and location, you will be able to set:
- short name
- help text
You can create as many types as you want. However, we suggest keeping the number between 6-7 to avoid misuse.
Newly created work-locations and type of time off will be available for all users right after you've added them.
